Hey guys! I’m Lucy from rural Australia and welcome to my blog! I love travelling and being able to immerse myself in different cultures. It is wonderful to be able to learn about another culture and how others live whilst actually being there. I recently ventured to Vietnam with 5 friends, and that is where both the featured image and the header image of my blog were taken. Vietnam was amazing and it will definitely be somewhere I’d like to return to. It was definitely an eye opening experience though and did make me realise how lucky I am!
While I love travel, I have not yet travelled as much as I would like to have. I have trouble packing light when travelling, and yes, I still travel with a suitcase not a backpack. So, if you, like me, have trouble packing light and haven’t travelled much – then this blog is definitely for you! I incorporate travel tips from someone who has aspirations to be a world traveller but hasn’t quite got there yet. I want to be able to learn about the world by living it, not just researching it and hearing from other people.
Greece has fascinated me for years and it is a dream of mine to visit there with my sister and island hop, jump off boats into the Mediterranean and visit the stunning beaches. Beaches are my favourite travel destination and it is a goal of mine to go to as many as possible! Through my blog you will be able to learn all about Greece so that by the time you visit, like me, you’ll know everything there is to know!
I am drawn to Greece, and in particular the Greek islands because the islands seem as though they are frozen in time. The water is clear and the buildings historically pristine. Recently the islands have been made to appeal to young travellers, boasting brilliant nightlife and amazing beaches.
Pico Iyer writes about how travel is like a love affair “and all good trips are, like love, about being carried out of yourself and deposited in the midst of terror and wonder.” This rings so true, travelling can be terrifying especially if you are on your own but it is such an eye opening experience and truly deepens your insight into the world. To truly be able to enjoy your travels you have to be willing to step outside your comfort zone, and that is something that has taken me quite some time to get my head around as I am very comfortable with the familiar.
